Making something out of nothing.
I know how to make something out of nothing. I see the whole picture and what a thing could become before it exists.
Finding purpose for ideas that don't have one yet.
Solutions and problems are one relationship, not two separate things.
Supporting our collective imagination, and the world we want to live in.
I champion human flourishing and believe in a more interesting, equitable, and functional world; I design for people, communities, and our shared experience.
Build from the ground up.
About — 01
I want to know
everything.
I'm named after
Harriet the Spy
, who said it first and meant it literally. I have
never found a good reason to want less.
I work with the connection and conversation between creativity and technology, and on what that makes possible: experiences that challenge people, hold their attention honestly, and connect them. Whether I'm designing an intuitive solution or an interaction that tells a story, I am asking the same two questions. Where are we now? Where could we be instead?
That curiosity is why my background is so broad, spanning economics, creative computing, and computer science at the University of Chicago.
Data-driven problem solving, technological thinking, design, and economics are different ways of knowing one world. I look forward to collecting more ways of knowing, but in the meantime, I've honed the grit of an economist, the curiosity of a philosopher, the ingenuity of a technologist, and the imagination of an artist.

The degrees — 02
The overlap, not the parts.
Where are we now, and where could we be instead? No single field asks the whole question or has the whole answer.
hover over a field - B.A. creative computing and economics, minor in computer science, University of Chicago, 2025
The premise — 03
Technology is never neutral.
Every tool makes a claim about how people should spend their attention, their time, and their trust. Most make their claim by accident. I would rather make mine deliberately, and be able to explain it and improve upon it as we learn more.
Good design and thoughtful technology do more than make life easier. They open possibilities, spark creativity, and give back the time to spend on what we love (more work, less labour!). To me, human-centered means keeping people at the centre of that argument, not at the end of it.
